Julianne Hough Shows Her True Colors on Byrdie

 

Julianne recently did a photo shoot for Byrdie.  Byrdie asked Julianne to try out a rainbow of bright eye makeup.  Julianne tried out several different bright colors as done by makeup artist Molly Stern.

Not every actress is game for trying a new beauty look says Byrdie but Julianne fully embraced the challenge.  Julianne's eye makeup was done in brilliant bright colors including reds, vibrant blue, yellow and purple.

Later in the week Julianne was spotted at LAX Airport waiting for a departing flight.  She had her two constant companions, Cavalier Spaniels Lexi and Harley, tucked inside her travel bag.

 



 

Julianne Hough To Be Spokesperson For FFANY Shoes For Sale To Benefit Breast Cancer

Julianne launched her own shoe line for Sole Society and now she is using shoes to support breast cancer research.  It has been announced that she will be the spokesperson for QVC's joint effort with the Fashion Footwear Associaton of New York to rasie money for the cause. 

Over 120,000 shoes from more than 80 different brands will  be offered at half the manufacturers suggested retail price.  The net proceeds will benefit breast cancer research and education institutions.  The partnership has generated over 41 million dollars for the cause to date. 

Hough is proud to join the effort.  "There are many bonds that women share. Unfortunately breast cancer is one that negatively impacts so many," said Hough. "Having the opportunity to take a positive bond like a passion for shoes and adapt it to benefit a worthy cause such as this is incredibly fulfilling."

"Julianne's breadth of talent and her vivacious spirit are admirable," says Claire Watts, CEO QVC U.S. "She is a natural fit as this year's spokesperson, and we're so pleased that she is supporting this worthy cause with us."

"Having a spokesperson who is as ambitious and energetic as Julianne helps to attract people to the cause," says Joe Moore, FFANY's president and CEO. "Julianne is involved in so many different avenues of work; I know that her enthusiasm will encourage others to get involved."

A shoe from the Julianne Hough Sole Society collection will be offered for sale.  Julianne will appear in television and print ads for the cause.

Julianne Out And About In Hollywood

Julianne has had a busy week.  She has been out and about in Hollywood.

She was spotted on her way to the dance studio last Friday.  After the dance studio she went for a workout at the gym.  She then headed out for lunch after changing into a pair of camouflage pants and a pink blouse that opened in the back.

She stepped out with her new man, Ari Sandel, as they attented Cara Santana's birthday party at the Chateau Marmont.  This marked the first time they have been seen out as a couple.

Julianne looked sleek and elegant in black as the couple climbed into a car together. Rumors about the couple have been circulating since he attended her Gatsby themed birthday party in July. Looks like things are heating up between the actress and the oscar winner. Guess we will see!

  Julianne is alway out and about in Hollywood.  She spends most mornings going to the gym for a workout.  She has been spotted leaving the gym with a gal pal several times this week.

Hough was also photographed attending friend, Stacey Cramer's, birthday party at Chateau Marmont on August 13th.  Earlier in the day she was spotted having breakfast with niece, Paris Wise.

Julianne's latest movie "Paradise" is due out in October.  She plays a religious girl who decides to go to the wild side after suffering burns over most of her body due to a plane crash. 

Hough says she could relate to Lamb because of her upbringing in the Mormon faith.  She stated that it was a culture shock when she moved to London to study dance.  Moving to L.A. after graduating high school was another culture shock.  The actress recalled how everyone asked her why she didn't drink.  Her reply was "I am Mormon".

Julianne arrived in L.A. with $2000.00 and a dream.   Her roommates were models.  For her first Hollywood party, she had to ask one of her roommates if she could borrow a dress.  She arrived at the party in a borrowed dress and a pair of Ugg boots.  She laughs at the memory.

The man escorting her to the party was someone who aspired to be her manager.  After he left her all alone she didn't quite know what to do.  Actress Kristen Bell came to Hough's rescue by asking her if she was OK and inviting her to join Bell's group.  Bell left an impression on the young dancer, as she states Kristen is one of the nicest people she has ever met.

 Julianne Hough attended the premiere of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones on August 12th. Julianne turned out to support her friend Lily Collins who plays the lead role of Clary in the movie. Julianne looked radiant in Jenny Packham pants, top and clutch.  She completed the look with Stuart Weitzman Nudist strappy sandals.

Julianne took her niece, Paris Wise, to the premiere.   The proud aunt tweeting "With my sweet Paris Wise." You are looking so mature.  The two made a striking pair.  I imagine Aunt Juju is a dream of an aunt!

Julianne attended Cosmopolitans Summer Bash at Palihouse in West Hollywood on Saturday August 10th.  She was there to support her bff Nina Dobrev who is Cosmopolitan Magazine's latest cover girl.

Julianne wore a Camilla and Marc LBD and Brian Atwood heels.  She accessorized with a Pluma Italia Cuff, a Rafe Clutch and Sydney Evans Jewels.

Julianne Hough's Movie Paradise Angers God?

 Some eerie events happened during the filming of Julianne Hough's new movie Paradise.  It left Diablo Cody wondering if she had pushed God to far. 

 

When they were filming the scene where Hough's character, Lamb faces her church congregation, the power went out just as Lamb was renouncing God.  Louisiana was experiencing some apocalyptic weather according to Cody. 

 

The scene features Hough as she takes the pulpit to explain she is leaving her faith to do shocking things in Vegas.  Lamb can't comprehend that the benevolent God that she believes in would allow her to endure the suffering that she is going through after her accident.

 

 

 

 

Cody says "It's a very emotional scene. But it had to be balanced with lightness and humor that was a tough one."

 

Cody goes on to say that Hough seemed unaffected even after the eerie blackout.  Cody states "I don't know if Julianne was phased. But I was. I thought am I angering someone there?"

 

Hough says "Saying certain things out loud, even though it is not me and it is a character, is definitely quite shocking coming out of my mouth. But at the end of the day people has their struggles and it all comes around.  It almost makes you stronger to hit rock bottom."

 

Cody goes on to say that a lot of people are seeking spiritual comfort right now.  It is easy to look around at things that are happening and feel that there is no good force in the world.  The movie Paradise asks the question what if there is?

 

Paradise opens in limited release in October. It stars Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman and Holly Hunter.  Written and directed by Diablo Cody.
